Short one! Just because I've been feeling particularly lazy these few days, thus the lack of entries. Procrastination is my nemesis... but I welcome distractions as if they are butterscorch/ double caramel popcorn. Guess that includes blogging, which, compared to actual work, is a lot easier to do.

Ice n Slice has so much history for me. JC introduced the place to me when we were besties at uni, studying Japanese culture together. We'd go there after class and have pizza... then rush back while holding gelatos and walking. It's a slightly longer walk than other restaurants we frequented at Newtown, but when you are eating a cone of gelato along the way, the walk seems a lot shorter than what it really is. And usually we'd be running cos we'd be late to class.

Place hasn't changed since then. Still the same spacious Italian restaurant/cafe. Company has changed though, went with my Cafe buddies :D

I don't think I ever tried the Surf and Turf pizza there though... I remember they do very good vegetarian pizzas, and I've found a new love for pumpkins or sweet potato as a pizza topping.

I was given the job of choosing the pizza though, and I know not everyone appreciates having no meat on their pizza (not you guys, Cafe buddies, but there ARE people who must have meat out there, not naming anyone *ahem*), so this was quite the safe choice. Cafe buddies eat pretty much anything, so this has everything :D Perfect. Prawns, prosciutto, chicken... yep~ all is good, though when I see spring onions on pizza, I think it should really be a pekking duck pizza, which I have yet to try in Sydney.

I think I had my daily dose of coffee already that day, so I chose some berry tea. Was quite bland, opposite of what it looked actually, all dark and pink.

The awesome finale: Waffles with EXTRA gelato of tiramisu and vanilla. You cannot go to Ice n Slice and NOT try their tiramisu gelato. Waffle would have been OK-ish without that extra scoop.

I really like revisiting this place... happy memories, good company, good food, good service... we practically had the whole place to ourselves because we went at 3:30 or so. Though I have no idea whether they do good coffee or not, S did mention the Chai was acceptable, and the whole place is pretty comfortable to just chill in.
I don't usually choose tiramisu for dessert, but honestly, their tiramisu gelato, trust me on this one and TRY it.
